Description:
Day 1: We drive to Savuti.
On the travelling day we will have picnic lunch en route. We will be in the campsite in the evening (18:00 hours).
Our drive to Savuti will be conducted as morning game drive. We will travel about 100kms to BOGA campsite which is 4 to 5hrs drive. Savuti is in Chobe National Park which is 10,878 km2 large The Savuti Marsh is the relic of a large inland lake whose water supply was cut a long time ago by tectonic movements. Nowadays the marsh is fed by the erratic Savuti Channel, which dries up for long periods then curiously flows again, a consequence of tectonic activity in the area. The region is also covered with extensive savannas and rolling grasslands, which makes wildlife particularly dynamic in this section of the park. At dry seasons, tourists going on safari often view the warthog, kudu, impala, zebra, wildebeest and a herd of elephants bullying each other. At rain seasons, the rich bird life of the park (450 species in the whole park) is well represented. Prides of lions, hyenas, zebras or more rarely cheetahs are visible as well. This region is indeed reputed for its annual migration of zebras and predators.
During our stay in Savuti we will do morning and afternoon game drives starting early in the morning after full English breakfast till 11:30 hours and resume the afternoon safari around 1530 hours after high tea.
On our last morning we will start early with hot breakfast and head to Kasane International Airport arriving around 1200 hours.
