Egypt at its best! A one-week family holiday with camel riding, boating on the Nile, a visit to a village school, pyramids, tombs and Tutankhamen’s treasure. This tour is set at a pace ideal for families aged 5 years and over and offers valuable insight into the life, culture and the mysteries of ancient Egypt, coupled with plenty of free time for relaxing by the pool or independent exploration.

Day 1-Cairo

 Welcome to the land of the Pharaohs! At Cairo airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax.

Day 2

Today, we visit the pyramids and Sphinx at Giza Plateau. Sole survivors from the ancient Seven Wonders of the World. Gaze in awe at the largest of the three great pyramids – Cheops, constructed from over 2.5 million limestone blocks it took more than 20 years to construct. Afterwards we enjoy a camel ride across the desert sands.

Day 3

Cairo – Aswan. Today, we venture in search of the treasures of King Tutankhamen, mummies and more at the Egyptian Museum. Later we tour the Citadel of Saladin. We conclude the day with a market walk through  Khan el-Khalili bazaar. Time to freshen up, this evening we take the comfortable overnight sleeper train to Aswan.

Day 4

We arrive into Aswan this morning and explore the Nubian city on a guided walk of the local market and souq. Scenically located on the Nile, a walk along the riverfront corniche to view the many boats is a real treat, as is Aswan bazaar. Free afternoon.

Day 5

Free morning or opt for the morning excursion to Abu Simbel. The remainder of the afternoon at leisure;

Day 6

Aswan – Luxor. This morning we board a motor boat and cruise along the River Nile to Seheil island, where we disembark and visit a local village and school before enjoying lunch that will be served in the home of an Egyptian family. After this, we cruise back to Aswan for our afternoon/evening train journey to LuxorThe 4000-year-old site of   Luxor, is our base for the next three days.

Day 7

Toda we visit Karnak Temple, more than a temple, Karnak is a spectacular complex of sanctuaries, pylons, statues and obelisks. Built on a grand scale, Karnak is probably Egypt’s finest ancient temple. Free afternoon or wander along Luxor’s historic waterfront. This evening, we travel in horse-drawn carriages to the illuminated Temple of Luxor where we enjoy a tour in the cool evening air. Rest of evening free.

Day 8-Valley of the Kings

Early this morning we head to the West Bank of the Nile for a tour to the Valleys of the Kings where the great pharaohs were buried. The cliffcontained a vast necropolis of tombs, some of which you can enter. Some of the tombs are so well preserved that the colors of the incredible pharaonic friezes are still as vibrant as when they were first painted.

After leaving the Valley of the Kings and saying goodbye to our tour guide we return to our hotel, where there will be a little time to freshen up before hotel check out and onward departure transfer to Luxor international Airport.
