On this 2 day tour you will visit the most interesting of Transylvania's sites and have a one in a life time experience, by seeing the Romanian brown bears in their natural habitat - the Carpahtian forest.Brown bears have a large global distribution which reflects their ability to adapt to a variety of habitats. There are estimated to be more than 200,000 brown bears worldwide, with approximately 6,000 individuals in the Carpathian region of Romania. They are amongst the largest living carnivores and can grow to an enormous size, males up to 350kg, and females to 200kg, with the biggest on record being recorded in Romania weighing 480kg.


Day 01: Bucharest - Peles Castle - Sighisoara Tour - Bear Watching - Overnight in Sighisoara
Our first stop will be Peles Castle - an astounding Royal residence, dating from the end of the 19th century. Considered to be one of the most beautiful castles in Europe.

Sighisoara (UNESCO site) is one of the few inhabited fortified towns in the world and it provides a splendid example of medieval town planning. Here, all the elements of the medieval world have been perfectly preserved. Highlights: The Clock Tower & History Museum, The Church on the Hill, House of Dracula, The pupils roofed stairways, German cemetery.

Bear Watching Experience: In the aftrenoon drive to the bear watching location to meet the ranger. Beside your tourist guide during the bear watching experience there will be a forest ranger coordinating the group and activity. You will be taken to a safe observation point, from there you will be able to contemplate the bears and take photos. It is a very safe experience and families with children enjoy this unique tour throughout the year.

Day 02: Sighisoara - Brasov Tour - Bran Castle aka Dracula's Castle - Bucharest 

In the morning enjoy a tour of Brasov medieval town. Highlights: Black Church, Citadel of Brasov, Ecaterina's Gate, White Tower, Black Tower, The Blacksmiths Bastion, The Weavers Bastion, The Ropemakers Bastion, The Drapers Bastion.

Afterwards travel to the town of Bran, where you will visit the Castle of Dracula. Surrounded by an aura of mystery and legend and perched high atop a 200-foot-high rock, Bran Castle owes its fame to its imposing towers and turrets as well as to the myth created around Bram Stocker’s novel 'Dracula'.

Return to Bucharest. Drop-off at your hotel.
