Description:

You will be met and welcomed by your professional English speaking tour guide at your hotel in Addis Ababa at 8:30 AM and drive 100 km north of Addis Ababa to Debre Libanos Monastery crossing the Eucalyptus forest of Mt. Entoto and the fertile Selale Plains. Along the way, stop at few viewpoints to enjoy and take picture of the mountains landscape. At Debre Libanos Monastery (the biggest monastery in Ethiopia dating back to the 13th Century AD), visit the church founded by Emperor Haile Sillassie I which is famous for its beautiful stained glass windows. Next, visit the monastery’s museum which shows a number of historical artifacts, crosses, manuscripts, icons, etc

Afterwards, you will walk for about 20 minutes to see the Portuguese Bridge (16th Century AD). In the rainy season (June – September) you will also visit a beautiful waterfall of a river which flows to the Jemma River. Then, continue walking to a viewpoint where you will be stunned with the breathtaking scenery of the Jemma River Gorge. Your guide will then be of help in showing you one of the Ethiopia’s endemic mammals – the Gelada Baboon.

After lunch at a small restaurant serving Ethiopian meals, drive back to Addis Ababa with a stop at a village for a local family visit of the Oromo people – the biggest ethnic group in Ethiopia. Here you will experience the way of life of the agriculturalist locals.

The last stop would be attending a typical Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony to see how Ethiopians enjoy their coffee with ceremony and to taste best Ethiopian coffee you might have in your life. Finally, be dropped at any place in Addis Ababa or Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.
