Bear Glacier is one of the longest glaciers in the Kenai Fjords National Park. Just minutes from the Seward airport, the Bear Glacier Tour is a 30 minute flight.Description
Your private tour starts at the Seward Airport, where you'll board your half-hour flight to see Bear Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park.
Look down on the glacial ice that descends in a long, sweeping highway toward the sea and ends at a large glacial lake filled with icebergs up to 100 feet high (30 meters). Separated from the Gulf of Alaska by a long beach where local surfers frolic in heavy wetsuits, the lake is quite cold, unsurprisingly.
Your flight takes in the landscape all around Bear Glacier before working its way over the edge of the Harding Icefield on your return to the Seward airport.
The plane you'll fly on is a Cessna 182 or Cessna 185, flown by a pilot with more than 30 years of experience, the last 14 out of the same location and office in Seward. Transfer from the cruise terminal to the airport is not included; it's a 10-minute transfer.Highlights
