Graffiti tour in Comuna 13
In this tour you will get to know the history of Medellin through the life of the most wanted person in the
world in the 90’s, Pablo Escobar.Description
The tour begins at your hotel, then we will go to the last place where Pablo stood alive in the city: Los Olivos neighborhood, where he had rented a house to hide from his enemies.
After that we will visit the comuna 13, a place that has a dangerous stereotype because of the urban war that they suffered between 80’s and 90’s but nowadays is totally different thanks to the hard work of their population to transform their past into a promising future.
Then we head south of Medellin to Itagui city where we will visit his grave located in a private cemetery where Pablo’s family had to look for a place for his bones, at the end no one in Medellin wanted to listen more about him.
Later on, we’ll visit the virgin of hitmen, where the bad guys of the city used to go to pray to the Virgin Mary to help them to kill, if everything was as they begged to her, they brought a candle in gratitude.
The last stop is the main house of Pablo Escobar in the city, which is not a house it is a building called Monaco. When he arrived to one of the fanciest neighborhoods in town, as every place where he used to stay, he had to be on top, therefore, he showed his power building a massive fortress for the welfare of his family, but it didn’t last too much because Cali cartel tried to kill him there.
Optional visit to La Catedral
When Pablo went to jail, he didn’t go to a governmental jail, he bought a part of a mountain at the municipality of Envigado to build his own jail and stay there with his nearest hitmen, but he didn’t last too much there, because Pablo was not made to be behind bars.
In this place there are still some parts of the original structure of the Catedral and also you will see the
escape route that he used to run away with his guys.Highlights
