The Hurulu Eco Park Safari takes you on a tour through part of the Hurulu biosphere reserve. You can select either the morning or evening 3-hour safari according to your needs and tastes, though the evening safari tends to be better in terms of sights.Description
Meet your guide at the park entrance gate and start your safari at 5:30 am if you select the morning safari or 2:30 pm if you select the evening safari.
Hurulu Forest Reserve has been a Biosphere reserve since 1977. The average temperature sways between 27 and 28°C. The Hurulu Eco Park is a section of the Hurulu Forest Reserve. The park hosts a surprisingly large amount of wildlife, including some which are endangered; such as the Sri Lankan elephant, Indian Star Tortoise, Sri Lankan Jungle fowl and the Rusty-Spotted Cat.
Though you probably won’t see all of these endangered wildlife, it’s quite possible that you may catch sight of at least some of them. The Sri Lankan elephants are a very high possibility with their migratory habits. Elephants that have been translocated to over 100 km away return to the Hurulu Reserve, that they consider home, periodically.
If you are on the evening safari you have an even higher chance catching sight of the famed giants of Sri Lanka. They can be seen feeding or even taking a bath. Your safari tour guide will explain the sights and help you find as many of these elusive animals, as well as many other flora and fauna.
You will be completing your safari at 8:30 am if you opted for the morning safari, and 5:30 pm if you opted for the evening safari.Highlights
