We trot alongside the horses, get you front row spots at the ceremonies and sweat our way to see the Marching Bands. • Run past the tourist crowds • Don't miss a move • March with the band • Get the best views • Take action-packed pictures This is a group running tour, and we don't leave anyone behind. We can make it to all the locations at a light jog. If you'd like your own guide, we do offer this as a private tour too and can adapt to walkers.Description
Meet your guide just outside Hyde Park corner tube station, next to the park gates, in plenty of time to for a 10:15am start on Wednesdays and 9:15am start on Sundays.
After a brief intro, you'll head to your first front-row view of the Changing of the Guards at Hyde Park Barracks - here you'll learn all about the history of the Horsehold Calvary and the Changing of the Guard ceremony, as well as the role of the soldiers and the horses.
Then you'll follow your guide and trot alongside the guard through Hyde Park and down Constitution Hill before waving at the crowds at Buckingham Palace. Then you'll run between all the key ceremony locations, to see marching bands, more mounted troops and to find out more about the history of Royal London. You'll see Wellington Arch, Hyde Park, Green Park, Horseguards, St James's Palace, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, St James's' Park, Admiralty Arch, The Mall and Wellington Barracks.
Our guides are experts on timing, so you'll see the right things at the right time. But as these timings vary from day to day, we can't tell you a specific order for the tour, or where we'll end up, but it's likely to be near Buckingham Palace (St James's Park tube) or Westminster tube station. At the end you'll get a lovely snack from your guide, as they wish you a wonderful afternoon!Highlights
