You know that feeling when you get home from a trip and realise all you brought back with you was a fridge magnet?! Join us on this unique shopping tour and not only will you pick up some one-of-a-kind souvenirs but you’ll learn about Czech culture and people in the process. Your local guide will show you the best (often hidden) spots to buy authentic handmade products, explain the customs and beliefs behind them and introduce you to some multi-talented local artists and artisans. Let the shopping spree begin!

Description:

Your shopping experience begins in the Lesser Town with a visit to one of the city’s most famous shops, which offers stunning bohemian products that are closely connected to the old Slavic traditions. Here, you find everything from hand-painted Easter eggs and Christmas decorations, to wooden toys and ceramics. Your guide points out the most traditional items, explains their story to you, and helps with suggestions in case you would like to buy something.

Next, our shopping adventure takes us off the beaten path to the beautiful courtyard of a catholic church, where we take a peek into a small glass shop, hidden in the basement. They specialise in glass jewellery and handmade glass beads. The staff are super friendly and always happy to answer any questions you may have about their craft.

On our way to the next shop, we pass by the colourful and well-known Lennon Wall, cross over the romantic Lovers’ Bridge, until we reach the Prague’s iconic Charles Bridge. Local artists use this space to sell their treasures; they also have their own shop just under the bridge. We pop down to take a look at their latest creations and maybe have a chat with a few of them. They are more than pleased to show you their best works, from pottery, paintings, and marionettes, to products designed by local artists, and much more!

After we cross to the other side of the river, we browse through the sea of shops in the historical city centre. Avoiding all the tourist traps, your guide takes you to the authentic stores, where locals buy their Bohemian crystal or jewellery made with genuine Czech garnet, or we can visit a popular liqueur store and learn about local wines and beers; you will have the opportunity to pick up some of the country’s best liquid offerings there.

Our tour ends with a glass of wine or cup of coffee nearby.

Before you go, don’t forget to tap your guide for all the latest information on what to see, do, and eat in the picturesque Prague, if you haven’t done so already.
